Affirmations and Reminders…

… as I begin my writing retreat on this dark, gray, rainy Monday morning…

This is the day that I have made.  Rejoice and be glad in it.  Begin the day with open hands of faith, ready to receive all that I am pouring into this brief portion of your life.  Be careful not to complain about anything, even the weather, since I am the author of your circumstances… (From Jesus Calling, April 11th reading)

I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.

So let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you’ll see it yet! Now that we’re on the right track, let’s stay on it. (Phil 3:12-16, MSG)

Morning prayer:

We love you, our Father, and thank you for the rest we’ve received.  Fully awaken our bodies, minds, and hearts to you in this new day.  Where we are hopeless bring hope.  Where we are dry bring water.  Fill us with anticipation for the good you’ve stored up for us.  We await your salvation.

…let your intention for us be realized completely, regardless of personal cost or loss…

So draw my heart to you,

So guide my mind,

So fill my imagination,

So control my will

That I may be completely devoted to you.

Then use me as you will:

Use me always for your glory

And the welfare of your people.

This I ask through Christ.  Amen.

So say we all.

Off to write…

Amen. 😉 Praying for a good week without any headaches but with lots of time with Jesus, for grace and mercy, for the ink to flow…
